Princess Beatrice pregnant: royal baby expected in the fall – The queen is “delighted” | Royal | New
The Royal Family are expected to recruit another member this fall as Princess Beatrice is pregnant with her first child, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. The palace said in a statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very happy to announce that they are expecting a baby in the fall of this year.”
The statement briefly mentioned Her Majesty’s reaction to the news, as well as the happiness shared by the families of Beatrice and Edoardo.
He added: “The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
The baby will be the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild and is expected to arrive a few months after the monarch’s 11th great-grandchild, as Meghan Markle is set to give birth to her and Prince Harry’s daughter in the beginning of summer.
Buckingham Palace has not specified what stage of pregnancy Princess Beatrice is or whether she is expecting a boy or a girl.
Edoardo already has a son from his previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang.
The four-year-old boy named Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, is said to be close to Princess Beatrice, who recently spoke very affectionately about the child.
The royal wrote an article for the Evening Standard as the Oscar Book Award Sponsor, in which she also spoke about Wolfie’s love for bedtime storybooks.
On World Book Day, she wrote: “This year I have had the great honor of becoming a mother-in-law and had a most remarkable time revisiting some of my most cherished stories. favorite at bedtime.

“Together, we had a privileged time reading all of the nominations for the 2020 Oscars Book Prize.
“The winning book Tad by Benji Davies is a remarkable story of resilience told through the adventures of Tad the Little Tadpole who was one of the smallest but bravest in the pond.”
She also touched on home schooling and how she and Edoardo approached it during national lockdowns.
She wrote: “My stepson has been, like many children, in homeschool this term.
“Helping her engage in stories is a great journey to inspire imagination, creativity, independence and humor.
“If you haven’t read the Oi Frog books by Kes Gray and Jim Field yet, they have quickly become our favorites.”
Little Wolfie played a key role in Beatrice and Edoardo’s scaled-down nuptials last summer, as he was reportedly witnessing his father.
Beatrice and Edoardo were due to get married in May 2020, but have been forced to postpone their nuptials due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
They held a private ceremony in front of only a handful of people at the Chapel Royal on July 17.
Buckingham Palace only shared a few photos taken after the ceremony, including one showing Prince Philip and the Queen smiling at the newlyweds.
The news of Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy will likely have delighted her sister Princess Eugenie, who gave birth to her first son, August Philip Hawke, on February 9.
